Solemn They Await was a one man band created by Rhys King in 2008, after a few months Thomas Waterhouse joined the band. Their style of music is apocalyptic funeral doom metal, one of their peculiarity is the use of clean vocals.The atmosphere created by their music is mesmerizing, at first you may think that the use of clean vocals in a funeral doom band will ruin the atmosphere, but Solemn They Await will prove you otherwise, the clean vocals help make their songs more abysmal, more apocalyptic.
In my opinion Solemn They Await is one of the best and most original bands in the funeral doom scene. Highly recommended for fans of Tyranny, Worship and Ahab.
