Mistress of the Dead - Discography

   Mistress of the Dead is a one man band from Czech Republic founded in 2004 by Vlad Cristea Vales. I am a huge fan of the czech funeral doom scene, it is not very known but in my opinion it is one of the best in the world.
   Mistress of the Dead songs are minimalist, the vocals are very slow and deep, and each guitar chord expend for a long time. Most songs have a length of 15 minutes or more, but they are not boring and crawl out through endless minutes, it is actually very peaceful and beautiful, and when you finish listening to a song, you can't believe that it was so long.
   Differently from the common funeral doom bands, Mistress of the Dead's songs are very sad and melancholic, you can really feel the pain in Vlad vocals. I have to admit that this band is not for everyone, only those who are fan of a more slow and melancholic funeral doom will be able to enjoy this.

De Profvndis Clamati - Discography


Band: De Profvndis Clamati
Genre: Funeral Doom Metal
Country: Brazil

   De Profvndis Clamati started around 2002 with the name Long Winter, but soon changed the name to Einsamkeit which means loneliness in german. In 2005 they changed their name again to De Profvndis Clamati, but their first album was released only in 2011.
   De profvndis clamati is so original, the music is so different from anything you are used to in the funeral doom scene. The atmosphere created by them is mesmerising, it is very dreamy. The melodies are so melancholic, so beautiful. One thing that I find really impressive and odd, is that the lyrics are writen in english, portuguese, latim and polish, they even mix these languages in the same song.
   I highly recommend this band for all the fans of a more melancholic funeral doom, and if you want to read to De Profvndis Clamati's full biography you can find it on last.fm (here).

Oppressive Light - Discography

   Oppressive Light is an international band that was founded in 2011 by May from Mexico, P. from France, Letallis (Photophobia, ex-..., ex-Deep-pression) from Italy and (N.) (Shroud of Distress and Unjoy) from Germany. After the release of their first album both Letallis and (N.) left the band.
   Oppressive Light's songs are great, the instrumentals are so hypnotic, combined with the anguished Letallis vocals, everything makes an atmosphere so deeply sad, so beautiful.
   I highly recommend this band for everyone.

   Longing and Silence is a one man band from USA created in 2013 by Belmae, his style of music is an atmospheric black metal with some influences from doom metal.
   Longing and Silence have great vocals, and is able to create a very dark and peaceful atmosphere, this band have everything you expect from a good atmospheric black metal band.
   In my opinion Longing and Silence have everything to become a somewhat famous band, and I do hope to see many more releases from him.
   I highly recommend this band for everyone.

Wounds - Discography

   Wounds is an internacional band with members from Belgium and USA, the band was formed in 2010 by Kold (Wilted, Lost Inside and ex-Hanging Garden) from USA and Surtur (Lost Inside and ex-Deep-pression) from Belgium. Nowadays the band is on hold.
   Wounds songs are exactly what you expeted from a band formed by such great musicians. The only bad thing about the band is that they have released only one album with just three songs.
   Wounds is perfect for those who are fan of a more melancholic black metal, the atmosphere created by them is very cold and sad.
   They say that the band is on hold, but I doubt that we will ever see another Wounds release.
   I highly reommend this band for everyone.
