    Tristram has only one album, and the members choose to remain anonymous. Sadly the band ended after the released of their only album.
   Most people (including myself) discover this band through the cover they made of Hypothermia's Ur Ångest Född (link). It is the most depressing song I ever heard, and I dare say that it is better than the original, this is the perfect song to commit suicide. The screams in this song is just too painful, too depressing, i would be surprised if the men who sang this didn't commit suicide yet.
   Tristram songs are all instrumental. The ambient that they create is so peaceful and depressing. The music is so powerful that is impossible to listen to Tristram and not get sad. I do not recommend this band for the weak hearted and the suicidals, this might be that final push that will make you finally take your life.
   This band is perfect for all of you who enjoy good depressive ambient black metal.

    Abyssmal Sorrow is quite unique, everyone who already listen to this band will say so. They bring everything that is best in funeral doom, while listening to their music you are taken to another world, where everything is so sad and painful but at the same time so beautiful and peaceful.
   When I listen to Abyssmal Sorrow work I picture myself in a landscape in a warm full moon night, in the middle of the nature just gazing up at the stars in pure solitude and depression.
   Sadly the band split-up after the release of the first full-length album, and all the members have chosen to remain anonymous. In my opinion Abyssmal Sorrow is the best funeral doom band and I recommend this even for those who are not fans of funeral doom.

   Happy Days is one of the most important bands in the Depressive scene. As a band that is somewhat famous there are a lot of divergent views, the "haters" say that Happy Days is "emo" black metal because this is one of the few bands that sing about heartbreak and betrayal.

   Happy Days is known as a "bedroom" black metal, so obviously the quality of the sound is quite poor, with the exception of their last album (Cause of Death: Life).
   Listening to their songs is a emotional roller coaster, A. Morbid's vocal is awesome, it is really deep, you can truly feel his pain.
   I think that there is no need to recommend this band, after all if you have never heard Happy Days before, you probably don't listen to DSBM so I have no idea what you are doing in this blog.

   Over the years Silencer became kind of "cult" in the depressive scene, I never understood why. But that don't change the fact that this is a great band.

   One of the reasons Silencer became so famous is because the vocalist Nattram was institutionalized shortly after releasing their only full-length album in 2001, probably this is one of the reasons why their music is so insane, so painful, so original.

   The vocal work in their songs is just perfect, you can really feel his anguish, his agony, his pain, you will never hear something like this again.

   The demo have only one track (Death - Pierce me), even knowing that this track also appear in the full-length album I posted it because I prefer the demo version of this song.

   Funeral Mourning is one of the best funeral doom bands i ever heard. Their music creates an atmosphere so melancholic but at the same time so peaceful and calm. 

   Funeral Mourning songs are perfect for be used as an ambient music, you just listen while doing something else, you wont see the time pass, and when the songs ends, you realize how hypnotized you are and how melancholy you became.

   I recommend this band for all the fans of funeral doom and atmospheric black.

Note: At the download of the album Drown in Solitude I included the tracks: Of Despair and Loss, An Abysmal Road as Far as My Misery, The Depths of Death. The last two were released on the vinyl in 2007, and the first one was released only in the re-released of the album in 2012.

   Photophobia is a international band and all members play in several famous depressive bands. In their first album (Humana Fragilitas) the lineup was A. Morbid (Happy Days, Withering Night, ex-Hanging Garden, ex-Deep-pression, ex-Nostalgie) from US, Letaliis (ex-Deep-pression) from Italy and U. Morbid (Fornicatus, Tunes of Despair) from Finland. In their second album (The Seven States of Mourning) A. Morbid left the band and Deimos (Fornicatus) joined, so the band become restricted to Finland and Italy.

   With a lineup like that there is no need to say that Photophobia is great band, you can really feel the angst and the agony in their songs. I recommend this band for everyone.

   Nortt was one of the first bands to mix Funeral Doom with Depressive Black Metal and it is one of the most influential bands in both genres. Along the years many bands tried to imitate Nortt's style of music, but i never found one that at least came close.

   This band has only one member (Nortt) and he is a genius for creating such masterpieces. The atmosphere created by his music is just too deep, too depressive, it really capture the essence of what sorrow means. The music is so slow and profound that it will hypnotize you, it is impossible to hear Nortt's music and not become a fan.

   His music is so brilliant and unique that Nortt created his own style of music, he calls it Pure Depressive Black Funeral Doom Metal, and I think this name is perfect, it really translates the essence of his musics.

   Nortt was the band that get me into depressive music, I owe a lot to him for introduce me to the beauty of Funeral Doom and DSBM. I highly recommend this band for every one.

NOTE: I didn't posted the ep Hadengang, the compilation Mournful Monuments 1998-2002 and the split with Xasthur because the musics in this albums are already in some of the others.

   Cheerful Depression is a one man band from Lithuania. His first and only album (Cheerful Depression) is really surprising. Everything is great, but the guitar work is just brilliant and different from what you are used to with DSBM bands, and that is what makes Cheerful Depression such a good and unique band.

   One of the most amazing things about this band is that the tracks Night of the Evil Dead and Zombie Apocalypse Black Metal ware recorded using an old broken acoustic guitar with rusty strings, surprisingly the result is great. Definitely you will never see anything like that again, I highly recommend this band for every one.

   At the beginning ... (also known as Dot Dot Dot) was a international band with members from Italy, Netherlands and USA, this was the Depressive era of the band.

   The first two albums (Suffering Existence, Somebody Save Me) was made when the band was international. This albums are not some kind of masterpiece, is just another depressive black metal, you can find a lot of bands that sound the same. But it is very good, after all is DSBM.

   The third album (Cold Journey Through Madness) is more a ambient black metal, and the fourth (The Path Toward Forgetfulness) is more a blackened shoegaze.
   ... have an album that was never released, so obviously I won't be posting it here, the album name is Autumnal Overdose of Melancholy.
   I like all the phases of ..., but i think only a few people would agree with me. In each album they sound like a different band with different styles, but i think it is worth check out each one of them.
