Ea - Discography

Band: Ea
Genre: Funeral Doom Metal
Country: Russia

Ea is a very mysterious band, first of all, the members keep their identity unknown. If that wasn't enough their lyrics are written in a dead language which was recreated based on archaeological researches, and the lyrical themes are based on sacral texts from ancient civilizations. Ea is the most enigmatic band I have ever heard.
Obviously Ea is a original band, of course that their music have similarities with others Funeral Doom bands but at the same time is very unique and creative, you will never find other band like this.

    1. Hi and thanks for a truly great blog. I was wondering if you could help me finding one album that I found circulating only in incomplete forms over the internet. The album in question is Aarni: "Tohcoth", a weird Finnish "Doom Metal" band. Any chance?

      Thanks

      1. Thanks for the comment.
You can download the album here (http://www.mediafire.com/download/27fkq5130i2dgp4/2008_-_Tohcoth.rar), this is the best quality I found. Maybe I will be posting the Aarni discography later.

    2. Thanks for the link. I couldn't find it on my own, haha, but this file indeed is complete and now I'm happy.

It's really strange stuff, not dark or depressing but very adventurous, and I love their darkly humorous surreal cover art. Gives nice balance to all the depressive/dark stuff I listen most of the time (just introducing myself to Thy Light.)

One band you might enjoy, you already might know it, is this one from Russia, Ithdabquth Qliphoth: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ithdabquth_Qliphoth/14438 Really dark, underground and hauntingly depressing stuff.

    3. Are you familiar with French band S.V.E.S.T. - a mysterious black metal band with not that much releases, all of which are nevertheless wonderful. It is raw(ish) but also amazingly technical and inventive at the same time without sounding superficial/gratuitous at all. Check out especially the 3 tracks from the split with Deathspell Omega to see how difficult it is to compare S.V.E.S.T. sound and atmospheres with other bands. The only full lenght (Urfaust) is also utterly brilliant. It's depressive and dark for sure.

    4. Another recommendation for you, Kältetod: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/K%C3%A4ltetod/21348 There is something special about this band, playful yet menacing riffs. Awesome.

    5. When I clicked the link for "Ea" by Ea, it tells me "Permission Denied."
Then it says that the album may be available for download from Amazon.
